I couldn’t believe I didn’t post a single entry in the month of March, my birthday month.  I’ve been busy with client works and personal projects.  I must admit, last month was pretty exhausting–not physically but purely mentally.  I felt that my brain’s lacking in creative inspiration and is hungry for new ideas, so I have to feed it.  I need to take a time off from work.

Good thing, my friends and I planned a trekking and surfing trip in Baler, Aurora.  And I must say, I came back rejuvenated and ready to share with you my summer experience.  Baler is known for its perfect waves that surfers dig but it’s more than just a surfing site.

Remember my post about those short films made for EF-Live the Language campaign?  Well, someone from the EF Team informed me that they have a new installment of 3 more films (Sydney, Vancouver and L.A.)!

Live the language – Sydney from EF Intl. Language Centers on Vimeo.

Live the language – Vancouver from EF Intl. Language Centers on Vimeo.

Live the language – Los Angeles from EF Intl. Language Centers on Vimeo.

These films were created by the same team:

Director: Gustav Johansson

Director of Photography: Niklas Johansson

Typography: Alvin Holmqvist

for more details about the team, you better check out this link.

This team of creative minds never failed to take my breath away and actually inspired me to travel the world.  For a two-minute video,  I was able to view the city, get to know the culture (not to mention the fashion), and even learn the language.  I also loved how they were able to inject a bit of love story in some of the films.

These shorts are indeed entertaining and educational at the same time. Good job! Bravo!

I  stumbled upon this short film/commercial for EF International Language Centers on my friend’s Facebook wall and I instantly fell in love with it.

EF – Live The Language – Paris from Albin Holmqvist on Vimeo.

Makes me want to go to Paris right now!

I love the video shots, music, typography, effects, storyline and how these elements are synced together to form a very simple yet powerful short film.

The genius behind this video is Gustav Johansson.  He also made 3 other short films for the EF Live the Language campaign.

EF – Live The Language – London from Albin Holmqvist on Vimeo.

EF – Live The Language – Barcelona from Albin Holmqvist on Vimeo.

EF – Live The Language – Beijing from Albin Holmqvist on Vimeo.

These videos really took me places!

So what are we waiting for? Let’s go backpacking!
